This is the first International Congress on Apricots and Plums, organized in Avignon and in Collaboration with INRAE and the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS).
Scientifics, technicians, publishers, professional managers that work in foreign countries will be reunited during this event. The objective of this edition is to reinforce the connections between apricot and plum communities, at a worldwide level.
This congress will provide scientific and technical updates on several subjects: genetics and improvement of the apricots and plums culture, health protection, cultural technics, quality...). It also is the opportunity to start new projects and exchanges on several specialities.
Focus on the program:
April 24th will be dedicated to visits of the experimental sites of INRAE (in Avignon, France) and the CTIFL center (in Balandran, close to Nîmes, France).
On the CTIFL center in Balandran, 2 workshops will be proposed in the afternoon, about:
- Certification, plants’ quality and INFEL standard
- Varietal evaluation: you will learn more about the challenges related to vegetal material and about questions that we can have on quality and sensorial evaluation.
April 26th will be dedicated to professionals that work in the Fruit and Vegetables sector. In collaboration with Fruits Plus, this day is organized in le “Lycée du Valentin” (highschool), in Valence, and will also propose some presentations and visits of the experimental station of SEFRA and the experimental Unit of INRAE de Gotheron.
