National Sterile Insect Technique Day, Tuesday 2 December 2025 at the CTIFL centre in Balandran. The Sterile Insect Technique is a species-specific, environmentally friendly, and proven technology for managing or eradicating some insect pests. It can be extremely effective when implemented as part of an IPM program, EX: the eradication of the screwworm, from an entire continent. However, it also requires infrastructure, expertise, and may be costly.
