RE-GREENHOUSE - Reinforce going for renewable energy in North-West Europe greenhouses
Project description
RE-GREENHOUSE is intended to accelerate the transition of the NWE region's greenhouse sector from fossil fuel energies, towards the production, storage and use of energy renewable. The NWE region has, in fact, the highest concentration of heated greenhouses in Europe and fossil fuels are mainly used there. The use of renewable energies is weak because the owners lack the time, means and knowledge to be able to make this transition.
We have 6 pilot greenhouses in 4 countries (Be, Fr, Lu, Nl). They use 6 renewable energies :
- heating network,
- biogas,
- wood heating,
- pellet heating,
- residual heat,
- PV.
With the creation of a plan for collecting measurements taken in greenhouses, these pilot projects will allow the implementation a reliable source of information and a decision-making tool that can be used to facilitate the transition to eco-responsible greenhouses. This tool, a “decision tree”, will be easily used by greenhouse owners and energy companies. It will make it possible to define which renewable energies will be appropriate for their greenhouse
