Favourable climatic developments in Occitanie

Climate change scenarios published by various research teams show an increase in average annual temperatures and a 'Mediterraneanisation' of the climate in southern France between now and 2030 and 2050 (Figure 1), accompanied by new heat and water stress on existing industries. In France, this phenomenon is reflected in an increase in the number of days when the maximum temperature exceeds 30°C, particularly in the south of the country. The number of such days has doubled between 1950 and 2020 and could be even higher by 2044 [1].
